Community volunteers can join Rebuilding Together South Sound for our Fall Rebuilding Day the last Saturday in October or Veterans Day the second Saturday in November. We are always looking for volunteers who work in the construction industry to support our repair programs – specifically general contractors, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, roofers, and HVAC technicians. We would also welcome volunteers to support some of our administrative work including scanning client files, helping with mailings, and other office tasks. The ideal candidate would be able to commit to a 4 hour time block, once per week, for at least 3 months. Please note - we do not have capacity to support time bound volunteer needs such as graduation requirements or court ordered volunteering.

Offers furniture to Thurston County residents who are transitioning into permanent housing. Ministry picks-up and delivers new or gently used mattresses and other needed furniture on Saturdays. All deliveries are based on availability. Ministry is not responsible for any furniture being delivered once items have been accepted by the client. Ministry accepts donations from the community and will schedule accordingly based on location.

Provides several volunteer and internship opportunities throughout the year in a variety of positions.  Opportunities include garden building, support, instructors, event support, farm volunteers, office work, carpentry, and more.

Provides volunteer opportunities in the following areas: food bank, mobile dental bus, medical receptionist, minor home repair, yard work, chores, food deliver, medical transportation, crafts & game events for children, basic computer skills training, raising funds, meal preparation, making flyers for events.

All purchases and donations at the thrift store help to support the meal program.  Donations of clothing, linens, small appliances and electronics, household items, books, movies, music, knick knacks, etc are accepted. Cannot accept mattresses or bed pillows.

Sells gently used furniture, housewares, antiques, and collectables. One hundred percent of the funds raised from the Habitat Store support Habitat's mission to build and repair homes and hope. New items arrive daily. The Habitat Store also helps volunteers gain basic employment experience. Volunteer opportunities include sales, pricing/sorting, display/decorating/cleaning, maintenance, and donation pick up/unloading.

The Serenity Thrift Store, located in Sequim, sells gently used items at reasonable prices. You can find a large assortment of furniture, clothes, jewelry, collectibles, antiques and household goods, as well as holiday gifts and unusual, hard-to-locate items. On occasion, items such as automobiles, RVs and special collectibles are available. Revenue from the Serenity Store funds Serenity House activities that are not fully funded by grants, such as the family shelter. This store has three departments: the main store, the furniture showcase, and the appliance center. Pick up of large item donations can only be facilitated for donations from Sequim at this time. Please call to arrange pick up if needed.

The Healthy Foods Market offers a grocery-store-style shopping experience with fresh produce, meat, dairy, dry/canned goods, baby food, diapers, and more. Registered clients may shop once weekly and are admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Agency assists adults in acquiring necessary basic skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing English to accomplish their goals and self-sufficiency. Provides training for volunteers who want to help other adults read and write (no previous teaching experience necessary). Provides training to tutor ESL (English as a Second Language). Tutor training workshops are twice a year, in the Spring and Fall.

Offers a variety of volunteer activities, including: Citizen Patrol, which includes disabled parking enforcement, radar speed checks, Park and Ride lot patrol, stolen vehicle search, and other non-hazardous patrol duties. Clerical or data processing work: for those who prefer an office environment. Project Care Track: which provides electronic transmitter bracelets to help us quickly locate and rescue those with a tendency to wander, such as people suffering from Alzheimer’s, Down Syndrome, Autism, and other conditions. Crime prevention activities: including Kid Care ID, and participation at events such as National Night Out and the Evergreen State Fair.

Hosts member supported, nonprofit organizations who support library services in their community. Friends of the Library is a separate group, but works closely with the Library. Groups: - Advocate for, and increase public awareness of, library services, needs, and goals - Fund-raise through book sales and other activities, - Support library events and activities that promote learning, enjoyment, and community connection.
