Peer Counseling and Assistance offered at Somali Community Services of Seattle
Provides peer counseling, referrals and assistance to refugee and immigrants. Case managers assist with cultural transition issues, understanding immigration requirements as well as applying for food, housing and other benefits.
Provides peer counseling, referrals and assistance to Somali and other refugee and immigrant populations. Case managers can assist with filling out immigration and citizenship paperwork, completing housing applications and applications for other benefits including basic food, WIC, SSI/SSDI.
If client requires further assistance, helps them get connected to the appropriate agency. Also provides translation and interpretation and cultural as well as behavioral orientations.

Provides a general assistance and referral service for both immigrants and people/organizations that provide services to immigrants. Assists Spanish-speaking clients with legal, medical, translation, employment, and cultural support.
Information, resource referrals and direct services related to health, youth, education, employment, housing, legal aid, basic necessities, identification documents, transportation safety, and advocacy for immigrant community members.
Services include:
- Free Medical Clinic for uninsured low-income adults
- Mobile dental clinic in partnership with PCHS (sliding scale cost paid to PCHS)
- Diabetes class in Spanish
- Monthly food/clothing distribution events
- Resource navigation and referrals for housing, legal aid, education, employment, identification documents, financial management, charity care, and more
- Limited temporary emergency rent assistance for existing clients
- Carseats
- Youth programming for middle- and high-school students
- Annual holiday celebration
- Community education and advocacy
