Homework Assistance Programs offered at King County Library System
Offers homework assistance through a designated website, live chat help, live homework help using online classroom plug-in and in-library tutor service. In-library tutoring is available at library branches throughout King County.
KCLS offers homework assistance in several ways.
Study Zone: Volunteer tutors provide free homework help at KCLS libraries.

Site Based Extended Learning Projects offered by Communities of Rooted Brilliance at Kent Meridian High School
Offers a year-long after-school academic program to newly arrived refugee and immigrant youth.
Works in partnership with Kent Meridian and Rainier Beach High Schools to offer year-long after-school academic programs to all newly arrived refugee youth in high school. Classroom Assistants and students meet weekly to complete homework assignments, tackle the senior research project, and complete important college application paperwork, such as the FAFSA. Time is divided into classroom instruction, individual and group work, mentorship, educational workshops, and access to scholastic resources.
Both sites feature Classroom Assistants who focus on assisting students as they participate in academic activities to improve their reading and writing skills and increase their knowledge of college and career readiness. The program strives to provide the information, resources, and access to opportunities to meet and exceed grade level standards, while completing high school graduation and college application milestones in order to graduate on time and with plans to pursue post-secondary education.
Also provides opportunities for students to participate in civic and community engagement projects to build their leadership skills as well as to complete service learning requirements for graduation.

Youth Development offered by Boys & Girls Clubs of King County in Wallingford
Provides drop-in program offering games, homework assistance with tutors, computer access, basic computer tutoring.
Provides a program where members can relax after school, make new friends, have fun and interact with positive adult role models. Facility is equipped with foosball, air hockey, bumper pool and ping-pong tables, Legos, chess, board games, a reading and homework room and a gym for part of the day. Power Hour matches kids with tutors during an organized homework period and provides study space.
Middle and high school students have their own teen space.
Transportation is provided by most north end public schools.

Basic Education for Adults offered at Sound Learning
Instruction in reading, writing, math, GED preparation, High School 21+, and English for Speakers of Other Languages.
Staff and trained volunteers provide distance and in-person small group instruction in reading, writing, math, High School + diploma, GED, and/ or academic skills upgrade to prepare for training, college, or work. Students' goals and priorities are incorporated into instruction. Digital literacy and employability skills are incorporated into instruction. We offer in-person, hybrid in-person and distance, and some distance options. We serve out of school youth age 16yrs and older. If you are under 19, you must have a signed release from the HS or district where you live. We work to provide individualized study plans along with small group experiences in order for students to get a full range of support and encouragement to be on the path to their education, work, and life goals.
