Coordinated Entry at the Housing Resource Center is a centralized intake, assessment and coordination point which determines appropriate level of assistance to stabilize housing and assist self-sufficiency. HRC tools include: rent assistance, security and utility deposits, background screening fees and other direct housing costs; referrals to site-based housing, housing voucher and other programs; linkages to life skills, financial literacy, and/or employability training and career-building services; plus referrals to partner entities.

The site also provides helpful tools such as a rent checklist, affordability calculator and links to other helpful resources. Website includes different language options.

Offers multiple support, education, and socialization groups. Peer coaches empower people to achieve a solid recovery foundation and achieve life goals. Peer coaches support individuals in recovery from: - Addiction Issues (chemical/behavioral) - Mental Health Challenges (short/long term diagnosis, grief & loss) - Chronic Illness (HIV/Hep C – Newly Dealing/Newly Diagnosed) Peer coaches are individually matched with people seeking support in their recovery. The matched pair meets for one hour per week for 26 weeks. Coaches are individuals in recovery who have reached long-term stability. Peer Employment Connections Offers weekly peer support groups that support participants to address fears and barriers about returning to work or work through obstacles they are encountering in their job. Offers vocational assessments, job search tools, resume building, interview preparation, coaching, benefits planning, employment-related clothing and transportation support, and ongoing support for job retention. Resource Connections Offers individualized support to identify and access a range of community resources such as housing or medical care. Participants meet one-to-one with a peer to help make the linkages to essential supports.

Provides a one-stop resource of local services to assist veterans with housing, counseling, job search, and mentoring, among other things. Also offers assistance with obtaining earned benefits.

Medicaid benefit program that assists individuals find and maintain permanent housing and employment.

Provides housing counseling services to low-income clients who are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless, or fleeing a domestic violence situation. Services may include connecting clients with landlords, dealing with barriers to housing including those with criminal background, credit issues, or past evictions, and helping clients in need of housing assistance that are unable to be referred because they do not qualify.

Provides support services for veterans and their families in the Adams, Chelan, Douglas, Grant, Kittitas, and Okanogan Counties. Services include rapid rehousing; homelessness prevention; and support in obtaining benefits, such as counseling, employment and training, educational assistance, and health care services.

Addresses the needs of children, parents, and families by offering support groups, education, as well as special programs for foster youth and teens. - Parent Support Classes: offering support groups and classes for parents and families to help educate and support as they're raising their children. Includes: 7 to 10-week Parenting Skills Classes for parents/caregivers of children, 0-18 years of age; and 4-hour Co-Parenting Seminars required by the courts to support parents who are going through divorce or separation and have minor children. - Kinship Navigator: provides services to enhance the ability of relatives to provide safe, stable, and a nurturing environment for the children in their care. Services include legal referral regarding custody, financial assistance to reach basic needs, parent education & training, support group, assistance in applying for federal and state subsidies, help with child care, help in navigating through the education system, and information on medical dental, and mental health services. - Foster Teen Programs: assists youth in acquiring the skills they need in order to live and function effectively on their own. These include interpersonal skills, money management, housing, work and vocational skills.

Offers free and confidential information, direct assistance and advocacy to individuals and families who speak Russian or Chinese languages and have limited English language skills. Helps people to navigate systems, find resources, learn about programs and connect to their community. Services include, but are not limited to the following: - Help with basic needs such as health care, food stamp, housing, financial security benefits, transportation, etc. - Sign up ESL and assistance in naturalization application - Assistance with children’s school issues - Signing up for social and recreational activities - Child care resources and school system – Informational and educational workshops All services provided are confidential.

Operates a drop-in center for homeless adults. Offers navigation assistance for housing resources and case management. Limited bus tickets available. Free Wi-Fi and local phone usage. Operation meal service supplies two meals lunch and dinner M-F, Saturday dinner only. Can sometimes offer transportation assistance to re-unite individuals to family. A medical doctor visits the center three days per week to assist with wound care, consultation and referrals for medical care. Serves as a cooling center during hot weather. Provides restrooms, showers and laundry facilities, with soap for laundry and showers. Also distributes limited toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, shaving cream, lotion and combs, as well as diapers, when available.   May have pet food for clients who have a dog or a cat. Operates as a cooling center during weather advisories. Also provides general and housing-specific information and referral services; including:   -  Information on accessing emergency, transitional and permanent housing, including subsidized housing options -  Assistance with applications for housing in the downtown Seattle area

Operates the coordinated entry program for Mason County.  This program acts as the single entry point for individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness, or at risk of becoming homeless.  Arranges the initial intake, eligibility screening, and shelter placements for community housing programs, rental assistance, and other housing assistance programs.

Community partner agencies are often on-site to assist with various needs. Please call to find out when each partner will be at Take the Next Step. Community partners have included: VOA Coordinated Entry Housing Navigation, Snohomish County Legal Services (attorney and legal clinic); Orion Employment Services, WorkSource; North Sound 2-1-1 and more.

Provides assistance with housing, rent and utilities, re-employment services, VA healthcare navigation, food, information and referral, and other support services. Connects veterans to community resources to help meet their needs.

A community hub where individuals and parents with children can attend programs and workshops, access community resources, connect with others, and receive information and referrals. Services vary by location but may include use of the phone, use of the fax, access to applications for subsidized apartments, assistance applying for government programs such as TANF and EBT, and use of the computer work stations. Clients are not able to use the resource center as a mailing address. Some financial assistance is available dependent upon funding and eligibility requirements.

A Care Coordinator will spend time understanding participants’ needs and help participants and family connect to available resources such as housing, health insurance, childcare, food assistance programs, and other services. The services available differ by area.

For those with Apple Health (Medicaid) with behavioral or physical health issues. Participants receive personalized support starting with their housing and employment coordinator. Participant and care team, including doctors, counselors, caretakers, and family members, will collaborate to set goals and determine the services needed to achieve them.

Partners with various housing organizations in the community that provide prevention service, rapid re-housing, transitional housing and permanent supported housing through HUD/VASH.   VA Puget Sound Community Housing staff also participate in area events to help connect with veterans experiencing homelessness.

Provides limited financial assistance and peer counseling services to achieve stable housing for individuals with mental health, substance abuse, or co-occuring disorders.  Peer counselors help provide guidance and assistance to obtain and maintain stable housing. Additionally peer counselors act as mentors to help empower, encourage responsibility, and promote active participation in recovery.

Provides case management assistance to help individuals living with HIV/AIDS find housing and related resources. Services include short and long-term housing search assistance, one-time emergency rental assistance for security deposits or to prevent evictions.
