Eligibility

Eligibility is determined using a completed Dial-A-Ride Application, including the Licensed Provider Verification Form, and may require an in-person Functional Assessment.

M-F 6am-10pm Sa, 7am-10pm Su, 8am-6:30pm.

Application process

Applications are available from the transit office or can be downloaded as a PDF from bft.org. To request a mailed copy of the application, call 509.735.5100. A determination of eligibility will be made within 21 calendar days of receiving a completed application. If an application is not processed within 21 days, presumptive eligibility is granted on the 22nd day until and unless the application is denied in writing. Scheduling: If eligible, reservations can be scheduled at least one day in advance or up to seven days in advance. Reservations can be made by phone, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or online at any time. However, reservations are only reviewed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.

Fees

If the individual lives within three-quarters of a mile of a bus route, the fees are as follows: $1.50 per trip, $3.00 round trip, $25 for a monthly pass, and $12 for a 10-ride ticket. Call for further information.

Door-to-door transportation for people whose disabilities prevent them from using the fixed-route bus system. Dial-A-Ride meets ADA complementary paratransit service requirements. Vehicles are equipped with lifts to accommodate individuals using wheelchairs or other mobility devices. An individual designated as a Personal Care Attendant may accompany the customer at no cost.
